Our fast-paced world poses huge challenges to everyone: we have to stand our ground in our ever-expanding roles. This actually requires a heroic effort from us, which is only possible if we perform both here and there, but not equally. We must learn to choose, weigh, and prioritize our tasks. The motifs that appear in my works: the robot vacuum cleaner, the full-bowl box and the rubber doll, all function as a juxtaposed mirror with the wall protectors made by our grandmothers/great-grandmothers. On the wall protectors, you can see scenes of everyday life in the past, as well as a conservative women’s role, which can be interpreted as the ideal role of women in our government today. The general perception of family and gender roles is undergoing a transformation. The emphasis shifts towards the importance of equality, partnership and strong emotional bonds between family members. My depicted objects are the answers of the modernized world to the inequalities between the sexes. In the market economy of the industrial society, various human desires are constantly produced, so the consumer society has become a society dominated by objects and desires. We get time, dreams and goals with the help of objects. The robot vacuum cleaner takes the task of keeping the home clean out of the woman’s hands. The box full of dishes indicates that we as women don’t even have to spend our lives in the kitchen these days, since we can even order for the whole family. The third painting shows the triggering of the man’s sexual service. The rubber doll is also a new tool that strengthens free decision. The choice of my topics is intertwined with the questions that arise in my mind, to which I am also looking for answers during its visual expression. The direction of my research thus lies in answering the questions: How much do our objects define us? How close can they become? What is the role of objects in changing social roles? Are they helping people or setting up another prison?? My aim with my works is still to generate questions in the viewer, which creates an opportunity to start a common discourse.
